Carry On F. Damgaard
Carry On was purchased as a 3 year old in Denmark in 2004. He is registered Danish Warmblood while having a pedigree with a strong influence of classic Holsteiner. In 2005 he arrived and started lunging and backing. Early the next year, 2006, he was moved to Hoosick Falls, NY, where he lives with his trainer, Harry Diel of Reindance Dressage. Harry has extensive stallion experience and has competed and trained at FEI dressage in his home land of Germany and the US. Carry On's easy going temperament, willingness to work, athleticism and talent prompted us to present him to North American Danish Warmblood Assoc. (NADWA) for provisional approval in October of 2006. He received high scores at the inspection. We
were able to meet the qualifying scores at FEI for 6 year old horses the following show season (2007), and he was consequently lifetime approved in the fall of that year. Based on his Holseiner pedigree (Stamm 813), in the fall of 2007, we requested and received permission to attend the next AHHA stallion inspection in October 2008. Knowing their Performance in Sport Option requirements, we showed him at Fourth Level 2 in the summer of 2008 and met the AHHA approval requirements before attending the stallion inspection. He passed the AHHA inspection. Because we had already obtained the necessary qualifying scores a few months before, he received final stallion approval at the inspection. Carry On is showing talent for Grand Prix as his piaffe, passage and tempi changes are coming along nicely. He is still just 7, so we are gradually building his muscles to make Grand Prix possible in the next few years. As training has been our focus to get stallion licensing, we have only bred him once, to a Danish mare. He has a 2 year old colt, Calisto, who has inherited his father's sweet disposition and athleticism. Calisto won his 2 year old colt class at NEDA Fall 2008, went onto win the Colts and Gelding Championship, and finished with Reserve Champion at the GAIG Breeders Cup Championship Final. He consistently scored in the high 70's.
